Netflix Casts Spot-On Actor for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Third Season
The Secret Organization is geared up to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, even if the true confrontation won’t unfold until the next season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has just been cast.
The platform declared this week that Cole Escola will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will play Mr. 2. Bon Clay has the ability to change into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve touched with their right hand. The performer, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will play a rendition of that character reimagined as non-binary, rather than as a drag artist, in the live-action show, differing from the source material and anime.
Escola is joined by a number of new cast members set to bring Baroque Works to the screen, featuring chief Mr. 0, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as Miss Goldenweek, and a familiar face, who will appear as the cast as the monarch of Alabasta.
Though this character is a major member of Baroque Works, the individual won’t appear until One Piece the upcoming installment. Considering season 2 set to cover the Little Garden segment, this represents a major departure in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate additional alterations to the story’s structure.
Escola’s blend of precise humor and deep sensitivity makes them a perfect fit for the character. Besides their recent voice performance in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and multiple awards for writing and starring in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, emphasizing the adaptability they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s most celebrated figures.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece program is scheduled to come back for its season two on March 10, 2026.
