Nico O’Reilly Another confident showing from the youngster after his first cap versus another side. A teammate was unable to take the most of a gorgeous flick over the opposing backline. The left-back spot is his to lose so soon. 7/10

The newcomer His first start for his country. Slightly careless when playing out but his dangerous corners caused problems. A handy game manager available to the manager to utilize against sides that sit back. Cautioned for a poorly timed tackle. Six

The winger Was presented with England’s clearest opportunity of the first half, his shot excellently kept out by Thomas Strakosha. As Quansah hanging back, he was forced to offer an outlet out wide yet his deliveries from the touchline were hit and miss. Taken off for the final quarter-hour. 6

The captain The decisive figure with his seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth strikes for his country. The opener a classic close-range tap-in and the second an excellent finish with his head after peeling away from his marker. At 32, he’s only getting better and England are strong contenders next summer with him up top. 8

Eberechi Eze Found it tough to get into the game on the left flank. Was presented with a presentable chance when set up from a teammate yet Strakosha denied him. Rashford produced a bigger an impact when substituted. 5
